Training Leaders
Lay leader training
Swaziland faces many hardships, including frequent droughts and one of the world’s highest HIV infection rates. The work of the church in response to the HIV crisis has been severely hampered by a shortage of leaders. Your gift could help mobilise the church by funding a lay leader’s placement on a two-year foundation training course.
English classes
While equal opportunities for education exist in Sri Lanka, women living in poverty are placed at a disadvantage. Furthermore, the civil war has left many of these women as widows. Your gift could help send one woman on a three-month English Language course, which will improve her chances of employment. The classes will also help to empower her in church and society.

Library book
The Diocese of Paraguay urgently needs to update and upgrade its library so that it can become a centre of Christian learning for local communities. The diocese aims to promote reading, particularly amongst young people, as a means of nurturing them in their faith.
One month’s theological training
In many communities, the clergy are more than just spiritual leaders, they also serve their communities as schoolteachers, community development workers, counsellors, aid workers, advocates and friends.
In Tanzania, the Anglican Church is working hard to build up its African leadership. Your gift could enable the church to train and send out much-needed leaders, who can provide a sound Christian foundation to a growing church, as well as providing practical help to vulnerable communities.
