Eye treatment for the elderly
Among the elderly of Bangladesh, cataracts often go untreated because healthcare is not easily affordable or accessible. Your gift could help ensure that two older people receive the treatment they need to restore their sight and change their lives.
Leadership training
There is a shortage of leadership skills among lay ministers and young people in the Diocese of South India. A leadership training programme will teach young students skills to become better leaders, including setting goals, handling conflict, communication skills, understanding other religions and responsible ecology.
HIV kits
Nearly 90 per cent of HIV infection in children is due to mother to child transmission. St Raphael’s Hospital, in northern-east Tanzania, is reducing transmission through an active awareness raising campaign and health outreach. These HIV kits will be used in hospitals; they include medicines and supplies for pregnant mothers.
